Milo Baughman was born in Goodland, Kansas on October 7, 1923. Without him knowing he became one of the world’s outstanding American furniture designers of the late 20th century. In 1953, Baughman started a long relationship with Thayer Coggin Inc., a North Carolina furniture company where Milo designed hundreds of extraordinary pieces.
Hans J. Wegner is considered one of the leading “Danish Modern” furniture designers of all times. He is one of the few Scandinavian designers who have accomplished world fame with his furniture design. Best known for his chairs, Wegner designed more than 500 different chairs, giving him the title “The Master of Chairs.”
Finn Juhl never thought of becoming a furniture designer, the slight furniture he created was for his own use. Now Finn Juhl is known for his unusual and sculptural pieces. One of his trademarks was to give an illusion of a floating seat and backrest that are seen in most of his chairs. His masterpiece the “Chieftain Chair” is a great example designed in the 1949.
